Sentinel Spectrum Chews are a 6-in-1 monthly parasite protection treatment for dogs. How does Sentinel Spectrum work?

Sentinel Spectrum is formulated with three active ingredients: lufenuron, milbemycin oxime, and praziquantel.
Lufenuron is an insect growth regulator that breaks the flea life cycle by inhibiting egg development. When a female flea bites a treated dog, she ingests a blood meal containing lufenuron, which is deposited in her eggs, preventing them from hatching or maturing into adults.
Milbemycin oxime is a macrocyclic anthelmintic that interferes with the neurotransmission of worms. It eliminates heartworm larvae, roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms when administered as directed.
Praziquantel is an anthelmintic that eliminates tapeworms by disrupting the parasite’s nervous system, leading to paralysis and death.

Important notes:

Sentinel Spectrum for Dogs has no direct effect on adult fleas and controls flea populations by breaking the flea life cycle at the egg stage. A separate treatment may be needed if adult fleas are present.
Dogs should be tested for heartworm prior to use, as Sentinel Spectrum is not effective against adult heartworms.
To ensure complete heartworm protection, administer monthly doses for at least 6 months after the last exposure to mosquitoes.
The safety of Sentinel Spectrum Chews has not been evaluated in breeding dogs or lactating females.

How To Use

Administer once monthly or as directed by your veterinarian.
Weigh your dog before starting the treatment to ensure the correct dosage.
Give one chew orally immediately after or in conjunction with a normal meal.
If mixing with food, ensure the dog consumes the entire meal to receive the full dose.
Treatment may begin at any time of the year. In areas with year-round infestations, continue treatment throughout the year without interruption.
If a dose is missed and more than 30 days have passed, administer immediately and resume the monthly schedule after consulting your veterinarian.
Treat all dogs in the household for fleas for effective control.
