Manufactured by Elanco, Capstar for cats tablets is very effective for instant removal of fleas. Ideal for pets that are heavily infested with fleas, the tablet starts killing fleas within 30 minutes and gets rid of 100% adult fleas within 7 hours. Made up of nitenpyram, a neurotoxin, it destroys the central nervous system of fleas. It kills fleas before they lay eggs and thus prevent re-infestation.

Cats show symptoms of excessive scratching due to instant and rapid killing of fleas. The symptoms subside within 24 hours as the pet gets relieved of fleas. This is short term flea treatment which needs to be followed by a long-term flea prevention and control treatment.
