Question from Anita Hodgdon

What is wrong with the frontline plus , it is not killing the fleas on my 2 dogs? I am not pleased.

Our Vet Says:

There isn’t a problem with Frontline Plus if you apply the product correctly following the instructions and treat your property at the same time as when you treat your dog you should have good results. It is very important to not give you pet a bath before and after application for two days. Sometimes you can see fleas on your dog because the life cycle of the fleas is between a few weeks and a few months depending on the temperature and humidity. Also the fleas need to come into contact with the active ingredients and after contact the fleas will die in 12-24 hours. If you don’t protect your dog all the time it can take 2-3 months to not have fleas. My advice is to treat your property at the same time as when you treat your dogs and repeat the treatment on the property after 2 weeks. Additionally you should administer Capstar to get quick results

Question of the Month

Congratulations to the winner of this month's Question of the Month, cheryl d. who wins $100 for the following question:

My Maddy is 6 years old and a HUGE girl -170 lbs. and the sweetest girl in my world! Trouble is... She is miserable with the itching. I been to the vet and tried changing her food to no beef, chicken, or pork. I also had her on allergy pills that cost $140 a month. I simply can’t afford that plus the expensive dog food, plus continuous yard treatments, etc. can you recommend a flea pill that is affordable? She is also on prion for incontinence. Will it affect that medication too? Thank ...?
