Question from Tammy Otis

I have given my cat Adams spot-on and It has not gotten rid of any fleas.I put It on him May 26.My question is, how long do I need to wait to put advantage on him

Our Vet Says:

Dear Tammy,

Because the active ingredients of the two products do not appertain to the same chemical group you can use Advantage after two weeks from the Adams treatment. Please wash the cat before the Advantage treatment and allow two days to pass from the bath to the application of the flea product. Also please read the manufacturer’s instructions for application. It is very important that the content of the pipette is placed directly on the skin. Also you need to pay attention to two more aspects:

- Treatment of the environment; 95% of the flea population is found in the pet’s close environment so you need to use an insecticidal product in your house as well.
- Fleas are hosts for worms so you need to use a deworming product as well; in adult cats worming treatments should be done every three months.

Muffy was a rescue from a puppy mill at age 1. We’ve overcome many problems, but now we have 2 I’m not sure how to fix. she itches and chews all the time like she has fleas, but there are no fleas. I do shampoo her with flea shampoo that I got when she did have fleas a year ago, and I did try switching to a conditioning shampoo for a while with no help. I bathe her about every 2 weeks because after a week she starts to stink.. strong dog odor, and after a week her scratching and chewing get...?
