Question from
Janette Byrd
Our Calico Cat Callie has recently been diagnosed with a breast tumor. Since she is a stray we have no idea how old she is. She has had a little of kittens since we have had her and she has been spayed. (no more kittens)
He told us that unfortunately tumors in cats are usually malignant. We intend to have he tumor removed. Is that a wise move on our part.
Our Vet Says:
It
is indicated to have it removed, if it has grown. If a tumor is changing in size
then there is a risk that it may burst and cause infection so it is best to have
it removed. However, if the tumour is not changing then it is better to leave it
there (this is unusual). Your vet will be able to give the best advice on this
as he/she has seen your cat.
My
advice is to have the tumour removed because they are almost always malignant.
