International Homeless Animals Day- Make a change on 15th August 2015!

Over population of pets is a burning issue for the entire world. The homeless pets end up living in shelters where euthanizing ceremony awaits them. The decrease in population can be achieved only by neutering or spaying the pets at the correct time. To solve this issue of homeless pets, International Society for Animal Rights (ISAR) introduced the International Homeless Animals Day (IHAD) in 1992. IHAD is celebrated on the third Saturday of August every year and in 2015, this day falls on 15^th August. This day was introduced to welcome new ideas and campaigns that could contribute to the mission of decreasing homeless animals in the whole world.

Along with the other countries, America will be celebrating the International Homeless Animals Day on the coming Saturday. Different organizations are organizing distinct domestic events that may throw light on the importance of spaying, neutering and other ways of decreasing the population of pets.

What are the different events that might take place on IHAD?

There are different events registered by various organizations in all the states of the country. The major observances confirmed by the ISAR include Charity block party, candle light vigils, awareness walks where leashed pets will be allowed, free talks on over population of pets by the experts, free vaccinations, micro chipping, discounted spaying and neutering services and many more at different locations!
