Yes, November in the pet\u2019s calendar is marked as the <strong>celebration of Pet Diabetes Month<\/strong>. It was as the name suggests for itself, recognized as this to spread the awareness about the health hazards that Diabetes possess in the pets.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"r\">November is Pet Diabetes Month<\/h2>\n<p>Some of you might not even know that pets suffer from diabetes also. You must be thinking how is it possible that the pets even when they can\u2019t eat sweets, suffer with such a chronic disease. However, for your information, Diabetes is not caused due to eating sweets; it is a result of lack of insulin production in the body or due to the inability to perform its functions adequately.\u00a0 Like humans have type 1 and type 2 diabetes so does the pets. The female dogs are more likely to develop diabetic condition than male dogs. While in the cats, it is the vice-versa. Diabetes is commonly observed in older pets while it is mostly uncommon to witness such chronic disease in younger pets.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most crucial factors that play a vital role in development of this disease especially in USA is obesity. Obesity and over-weight reasons are marked as 60% shareholders for diabetic pets.<\/p>\n<p>Although, there has been not found a cure for diabetes till now but, <strong>managing diabetes and managing pets<\/strong> suffering from diabetes is essential. To begin with, avoid your pet getting obese or over-weight. Not only obesity causes diabetes in pets but also various other harmful health conditions like arthritis. Being a responsible pet-parent you must learn how and when to administer insulin.
