How does Apoquel work?

Apoquel contains oclacitinib as the active ingredient. Oclacitinib inhibits the function of a variety of pruritogenic (itch-causing) cytokines and pro-inflammatory cytokines. Unlike topical treatments that only provide surface relief, Apoquel works systemically to control immune responses and inflammation for long-term comfort.It has been shown to start to relieve allergic itch in 4 hours and significantly control allergies in 24 hours.

Apoquel is not safe for use in pregnant, lactating, or breeding dogs. Use under veterinary consultation only.
Apoquel modulates the immune system.

Safety

Read the label instructions carefully before using.

Do not use for pregnant, lactating, or breeding dogs, or dogs with serious health conditions.
The treatment may increase susceptibility to infection, including demodicosis, and exacerbation of neoplastic conditions.
