Question from Christina

Can i use Dawn dishwashing liquid wash my puppy before use frontline plus?

Our Vet Says:

I do not recommend using on a pet products that are not approved to be used on animals and which were not safety tested, especially on young animals. If you wish to wash your pet the best time to do so is before the flea treatments but please use a proper dog shampoo.
The skin needs some time to reach its normal equilibrium in pH and fatty substances. The spot on products are carried on the skin surface by these fat substances so if you were to wash your dog after the treatment a large amount of the flea solution would be washed by the detergents in the shampoo.
After the treatment it is advised to delay for as long as possible the bath of your pet, if possible until before a new treatment is due.

Congratulations to the winner of this month's Question of the Month, cheryl d. who wins $100 for the following question:

My Maddy is 6 years old and a HUGE girl -170 lbs. and the sweetest girl in my world! Trouble is... She is miserable with the itching. I been to the vet and tried changing her food to no beef, chicken, or pork. I also had her on allergy pills that cost $140 a month. I simply can’t afford that plus the expensive dog food, plus continuous yard treatments, etc. can you recommend a flea pill that is affordable? She is also on prion for incontinence. Will it affect that medication too? Thank ...?
