Great news for Bayer flea & tick buyers
Bayer Animal Health recently announced that they will make their flea and tick products available to pet retailers, ending their policy of only supplying their Advantage and K-9 Advantage product exclusively through veterinarians.
The move is a step in the right direction for pet owners, who will enjoy the benefits of being able to shop around for the cheapest prices on Bayer's product range from cheaper, more competitive retailers.
In their recent press release, Bayer stated one reason for the change in policy is "to remain competitive in a rapidly changing business environment", and this move will delight buyers who don't want to be restricted in only being able purchase Advantage and K-9 Advantage products through their veterinarian.
A multi-million dollar ad campaign will also be run in various magazines to stress the importance of regular visits to veterinary surgeons.
Pet owners who buy an Advantage flea & tick product from licenced vets will also be able to claim back $20 in a "May Back In" rebate program, if they return to the same climic for their pet's medical care by the end of 2010.

Why does Mitsey need to be tested before giving her heartworm meds? She eats and exercises quite well. She does have a cough that she has had for about 3 or more years, but otherwise seems perfectly healthy.
