Question from nathan f.
I have 12 yr. old Male Black Lab that weighs 133 LB & was just diagnosed with heart worms. Are there any other options for him other than the Immiticide injections? Our vet answers:
If you treat with him using Heartgard you will not be treating him against the adult stage of Dilofilaria Immitis. Therefore, if your dog has adult heartworm it will not help him if he is treated with Heartgard. Using Immiticide provides treatment against the pre-adult and adult stage of heartworm. I think your vet will be able to give you the best advice and treatment because they have all of the results.
